Based out of the dance and gymnastics center located at 10251 Newene Road, the LCIA program integrates a “Learn through Play” curriculum. 3YR OLD PROGRAM
TUESDAY AND THURSDAY
As our philosophy states, social and emotional development as well as independence are extremely important during the preschool years and this is what the Tadpole program is all about!!
Children learn to help themselves, make choices, and follow direction while cooperating and getting along with others. Both small and large group activities are explored, such as music, movement, circle time, art, and science. Sharing and communication with classmates is encouraged, as well as independent use of the bathroom!
In preparation for the Fabulous Frogs program, the Tadpoles will work on their literacy and language skills such as writing, letter recognition and sounds, as well as working with colours, shapes and numbers. During these theme based activities, everyone in the classroom gets to enjoy a more one on one experience with the each other. Each day the Tadpoles get to participate in dance or gymnastics. It is very important for preschool aged children to be physically active multiple times throughout the day. Rain or shine the Tadpoles will get their silly’s out in the dance studio, in the gym, or on the playground. Active bodies, active minds!
4YR OLD PROGRAM (BEGINS KINDERGARTEN IN SEPTEMBER 2021)
MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY
In the Fantastic Frogs program is full of kindergarten readiness activities rolled into a fun, engaging theme based curriculum. Some of the themes included are dinosaurs, transportation, nutrition, and safety, just to name a few. Frogs rotate through a variety of learning centers that stimulate imagination and facilitate cooperativeness while sharing with and caring for others. Calendar time introduces the days of the week and months of the year. This is a great opportunity for children to be introduce to, simple math, patterns, and graphs. The Frogs build on their literacy and language with multiple letter activities, circle time readings, and creative writing opportunities. Throughout the program, the Frogs are lead through a variety of fun and creative science experiments and art projects based on monthly themes.
Each day the Frogs get to participate in dance, gymnastics or music. It is very import for preschool aged children to be physically active multiple times throughout the day, and rain or shine the Frogs will get their silly’s out in the dance studio, in the gym, or on the playground. Active bodies, active minds! Fantastic Frogs also get to experience the benefits of music in their preschool program. Understanding music helps with child development in so many ways: positive problem-solving skills, self-expression, growth of memory skills, and ultimately an understanding of music can help foster a positive self–esteem and self-confidence.

As young children grow they need positive guidance and nurturing to encourage development in all imperative areas of themselves. I believe that there are five crucial aspects of a child’s “self” that require fostering throughout the early years: social, physical, emotional, intellectual, and creative. I also believe that the most effective way to foster these areas of development is through play.
At Lake Country Imagination Academy children will be given opportunities to explore many different learning centers daily. As they explore and engage with their peers and teachers they will be learning cooperation, communication, empathy, language and literacy, self-control, fine motor skills, intellectual skills and much more!! This all happens in a controlled environment where the children are respected, safe and loved.
Relationships built on open communication with the families are very important when guiding and caring for young children. It is essential that families and caregivers to work together to ensure that consistency is maintained between home and preschool.
Promoting independence in children is also very important. As children develop independence, they gain a sense of self-worth and accomplishment. I encourage children to be independent and praise them for their hard work, efforts and accomplishments.
We maintain a safe and healthy classroom by making sure that all equipment and supervision meets or exceeds safety regulations. I strongly encourage families to provide nutritious snacks as well as encourage the children to eat healthy. In addition, I model safety, health and hygiene practices always.
As young children learn, develop, and accomplish they gain competence which gives them the confidence to continue learning!
